Where sales slip today

  • Contractors want an answer today; an enquiry answered tomorrow is often lost.
  • Regular buyers who stop ordering are noticed months later.
  • Project, tender and bulk enquiries need you, but they arrive mixed with small orders.

How the sale runs, with your digital team

Each step, as it often goes for electrical and hardware dealers today, and what your team does instead. A person approves every message.

  1. An enquiry comes in

TodayIndiaMART, TradeIndia, JustDial and WhatsApp messages pile up during the day.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamAsha reads every enquiry from your lead sites, mailbox, WhatsApp and enquiry form, marks it a lead or not, and gives a fit score with the reasons.

  2. Brand, rating and site

TodayEach reply starts with the same questions.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamAsha asks which brand, size or rating and how many, where and by when it is needed, and whether it is for a project, a shop or own use.

  3. The reply

    TodayPrices are typed from memory.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamAsha drafts the reply with prices only from your approved list, and never offers a discount beyond it. A person approves and sends it.

  4. Projects and special rates

TodayBig orders get the same slow queue.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamWhen a buyer mentions a project, tender, credit, a bulk order, a special discount or a warranty claim, Asha hands the buyer to you with their own words as proof.

Industry background your team starts with

How buyers choose

  • Contractors, builders, panel makers, shops and factory maintenance teams are the main buyers; each orders differently.
  • Buyers ask for the brand, rating or size, quantity, delivery place and how soon it can be dispatched.
  • Many brands publish a list price, and dealers quote a discount on it; buyers compare that discount between dealers.
  • Contractors and shops often buy on credit days; regular buyers expect the same terms each time.

Rules that apply

  • Many electrical goods, such as PVC cables, switches, MCBs, plugs and sockets, are under BIS Quality Control Orders and must carry the ISI mark.
  • LED lamps, luminaires and many electronic goods must be registered with BIS under its Compulsory Registration Scheme and show the registration number.
  • Some appliances, such as ceiling fans, must carry a BEE star label.
  • Goods moving above the GST value limit need an e-way bill, and the invoice shows HSN codes.

What buyers check

  • Whether you are an authorised dealer or distributor, since that decides whether the brand's warranty applies.
  • Fake wires, switches and tools are a known problem; buyers ask for a proper GST invoice and genuine stock.
  • Project buyers ask for test certificates, brand approvals in the project specification and delivery in lots.

Where leads come from

  • IndiaMART, TradeIndia and JustDial bring enquiries from businesses and contractors; Google Business Profile brings walk-in and local buyers.
  • Government offices buy many electrical and hardware items through GeM.
  • Builders and contractors also find dealers through referrals, so repeat buyers are worth more than one-off enquiries.

Questions owners ask

Set up for how you sell:

Watch the 3-minute walkthrough

Will it offer discounts?

Only those in your approved list. A buyer asking for a special discount goes to you.

Can it say our stock is 100% original?

It does not use phrases such as “100% original” or “lowest price guaranteed”. It can say you are an authorised dealer when that is in your approved knowledge.

Does it chase payments?

Not yet. Payment reminders are planned for a separate Collections employee.
