Sellyx

A sales team for your chemicals business.

Buyers ask for the grade, purity, CAS number, packing and a safety data sheet before they ask for a rate. Your digital team answers from your approved data sheets, never quotes a rate past its validity, and hands controlled substances and contracts to you.

Industrial chemicals

Where sales slip today

  • Every enquiry needs the right SDS, technical data sheet or certificate of analysis, and finding them takes time.
  • Rates move with the market; an old rate in a reply costs money.
  • Factories that buy every month drift away when nobody checks in.

How the sale runs, with your digital team

Each step, as it often goes for chemical traders and distributors today, and what your team does instead. A person approves every message.

  1. An enquiry comes in

TodayIt waits while someone finds the data sheets.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamAsha reads every enquiry from your lead sites, mailbox, WhatsApp and enquiry form, marks it a lead or not, and gives a fit score with the reasons.

  2. Grade, purity and packing

TodayThe details come out one email at a time.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamAsha asks which chemical, grade and purity and how much, which packing and where to deliver, and whether an SDS and certificate of analysis are needed with the order.

  3. Data sheets

TodayFiles are attached by hand, or forgotten.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamAsha sends the data sheets in your approved knowledge when the buyer asks. She quotes no purity or specification beyond them, and gives no safety advice beyond the SDS.

  4. Controlled and contract business

TodaySensitive enquiries need a careful person.

    Asha, digital employee

With your teamWhen a buyer mentions a controlled substance, NDPS, an import, a contract, a tanker or a rate contract, Asha hands the buyer to you with their own words as proof.

  5. The next lot

TodayMonthly buyers are taken for granted.

    Ravi, digital employee

With your teamRavi reads your past sales, works out each customer’s usual gap between orders, and drafts a reminder a week before the next order is due. Customers who go quiet become a call for their owner.

Industry background your team starts with

How buyers choose

  • Buyers state the chemical, grade (technical, industrial, pharma, food or lab), purity, CAS number, packing and quantity.
  • A safety data sheet (SDS), a technical data sheet and a certificate of analysis for the lot are asked for before or with the first order.
  • Factories value steady supply and the same quality lot after lot more than a one-time low rate.
  • Prices of many chemicals move with crude oil and international markets, so quotes usually carry a short validity.

Rules that apply

  • Hazardous chemicals in India come under the Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989.
  • Storing petroleum products and many solvents above set quantities needs a PESO licence.
  • Moving dangerous goods by road needs class labels on the vehicle and a transport emergency (TREM) card under the motor vehicle rules.
  • Some chemicals are controlled substances under the NDPS Act; dealing in them needs registration and records of every sale.

What buyers check

  • Whether you are an authorised distributor of the maker, and the origin of imported material.
  • Some chemicals are covered by BIS Quality Control Orders; the list changes, so the current one should be checked.
  • Packing (bags, drums, IBCs or tankers), labelling and how the goods will reach their plant safely.
